Coral Bay Love it!

four stars

The Weather is Great All Year Round! If you like to walk, play golf, bicycle and more outdoors activities then Coral Bay area is the perfect place. We stayed 2 weeks in Villa Petra near the Sea Caves, which is considered the most luxurious area in Cyprus. The villa is with sea view, 7 bedrooms, isolated and we enjoyed the privacy. In the area we would eat out at the Elephant Restaurant, which is by far the best quality and value for money restaurant. Every meal portion is huge! And the service is very friendly. Since we also love to eat fish and we do not want to spend money on cheap tourist fish and chips, I would advise the Blue Coral Fish Restaurant, which serve every day fresh fish.

Paphos thumbs up!

four stars

Found it a bit expensive you definitley need a car to get around. Car Hire was'nt too bad you just have to haggle to get a decent rate.Weather was 1st class as well as the people. I rented an appartment in Geriskipou just outside Paphos it was fantastic.Iwill certainly be returning. Just a word of warning to the Holiday agents you need to keep Paphos affordable!

Drinking age ?

four stars

Im so glad to hear the young lady enjoyed herself in Paphos,in July, coming back in August hoping it will be a little busier. But i must disagree with her comment that the drinking age is allowed at 14.I have lived here in Paphos for 2 years with my family .You would very rarely see a teenage cyproit drunk in the town, most are happy to drink soft drinks and still have a good time. The drinking laws are relaxed here, because the drinking culture is different, not to say the young ones do have a drink now n again, its normally at family gatherings.Hope you have a good time in August, remember plenty of sun cream it will be HOT!

Amazing but expensiveeeeeeeee

four stars

Cyprus is gorgeous, the people are friendly, the weather is hottttt, the breeze is cool and the food is good....the beaches are fantastic and the hotels/apartments are more than fine - clean and cool. My only problem with cyprus is that its so damn expensive!! No matter where you go and what you buy, its so expensive, and the exchange rate for the sterling £ to the cypriot £ is soooo bad. So if you want a cracking holiday - definitely go to Cyprus!! But be prepared to pay for it too...

Rip Off Paphos

two stars

This was our seventh visit to Cyprus and our sixth to Paphos, we visited twice last year and 12 months down the line we couldn't believe the prices, for a pub style meal 7.95cy pound (just under £10.00) bought a 3 course meal that amounted to not much more than a small sample of each course. The only meal we found that offered reasonable value was a Thompsons Fish and Chip Restaurant just under 8 pounds Cypriot bought a substantial meal for the two of us, including a free pot of tea. We were constantly pounced on by TIME SHARE touts, very much like Tenerife used to be, we couldn't walk ten yards in the Harbour area without being accosted. CONCLUSION: Be prepared to be ripped off if you eat out. We will not be visiting our beloved Cyprus again, Kato Paphos(tourist area) has been totally spoilt by over building, the remaining open space, Lighthouse Beach is about to be built on. What used to be an attractive resort with a quaint harbour has turned into an Urban Sprawl !! Cyprus is far too expensive, we will be looking elsewhere next year.

A Great Holiday!

three stars

Im just back from Paphos 2 weeks ago, and I must say it was a fantastic holiday! Paphos is clean, hot and most importantly the people are very friendly! My fiance and I went for a week and stayed in The Akteon Tourist Village hotel. It was nothing short of beautiful. It offered 3 large swiming pools, children's clubs, entertainment everynight, and food to suit everyone. Amongst this there were added options of beauty theraphy, massage, sauna, indoor pool, indoor gym facilities etc The food in the hotel wasn't bad, if you liek to try different exotic food then its definitely the place for you! I on the other hand am not very exotic, and each night the hotel did a different themed evening eg Italian night, Oriental night, Greek night. This was a bit disappointing if you didnt eat a certain kind of food, and like us, you were all inclusive. If your looking for nightlife you wont find it in Paphos. There is a bar street with plenty of bars, but even at the end of August, there wasn't many people about. The taxi fares to get into town are insane!! The cab drivers will try to rip you off lift, right and center, so always agree on a set price when you get into the cab. The beaches are fabulous!! And the hotel service is wonderful, the maids come to the room every single day and change your bed, leave fresh towels etc and the air conditioning in the rooms are fabulous, they go right down to -6 degrees celcius!! The only disappointment for me was that the value for money was awful. The cypriot £ is up on the British £, the exchange rate is £1 cypriot to around 78p british. Cyrpus is very expensive, travelling is probably the most expensive, food is expensive, and drink is expensive. I would definitely reccomend going Full Board in a hotel, and saving as much money as you can. Its twice as expensive as places like Spain, Teneriffe, Greece and Turkey. All in all it was a fantastic holiday with lots of hot sunshine (36 degrees) and if it wasn't was for how expensive the country is...I would definitely go back.

sooo much fun!

five stars

Last year my friend and I went with my family.... We enjoyed ourselves so much last year that we have decided to again but this time 6 girls. The night life was fantastic. Met so many friends out there who we still spaek to and stay with. Bubbles and starsky and hutch were our favourites (not to mention the barmen) although the california beach bar was also a good night out. As we were out there at the begginning of july Paphos itself was'nt that busy so this year we are going in august. Hoping to have an even better holiday this year! Hope this will help anyone who is debating whether or ot to go. Although I do suggest that it is brilliant for teenagers who enjoy a good night out. O yer just to point out the drinking age out there is 14 so good news for everyone...

We're going again this year!

five stars

WOW! I love it here, the weather is wonderful & it didn't rain once. There's all night entertainment going on near the swimming pool but you can travel uptown for peaceful restraunts & fantastic shops. Also, it's very easy to find your way around & there's a little shop about a one minute walk away from the rooms so it's very convenient. And there's free kids clubs, swimming pools & comedy nights to keep the kids entertained. And lastly, the place is full of little kittens & cats, which are adorable. Go there - they were my favourite holidays ever! And I'm going later this year - my third time!
