Had my reservations but found it superb.The locals looked after us and the climate was superbDef going again.

Hurghada - best customer service, ever!

My fiance and I took our first proper holiday together to the Sunrise Holidays Resort in May 2006. Despite getting the typical tummy/bummy ache - this was soon resoloved by our great rep - Jayne (Thomas Cook) who went to the pharmacy for us! The special 'Drotazide' is what you need over there, nothing else touches it. Yes, some of the shopkeepers do give you a little bit of hassle - but nothing a polite 'no thank you' and a smile won't melt away. A lot of the time they just want to practice their English - they're rather found of silly phrases like 'lovely jubbly' lol. Anyway, the hotel was lovely - you could get lost in it! Great array of food and drinks, superb service, glorious lagoon, and a stunning sunrise / sunset every day. Needless to say we are going back in May 2007, and are even planning for 2 weeks in 2008 for our honeymoon!

very nice trip

Hello iam from egypt but not from Hurghada i went thier this summer.alot of toursits :D a few from egypt i think :D it's great there is alot of thing to do and to have fun like trips to sea snorkling and diving alot of them and i went to the desret by the [something like bike i don't know it's name by english :D] in end i advise u to go there it's very very good place

Great place to learn to scuba dive.

You can find very good value trips in high quality accomodation here if you shop around. My trip's main purpose was learning to scuba dive - and I can highly recommend Emperor Divers as a good place to do this. Some travellers may encounter a little 'culture shock' when venturing outside the hotel if not accustomed to the middle east and developing countries.

Clearest sea in the World!

Les Rois Hotel, some 500m from the beautiful beach near the Marriott Hotel is a part of the endless stream of Hotels in Hurghada. I went there with my family and it was unbelievable experience for a summer vacation. The Red Sea is more beautiful in real life then on a picture. Go there you will be truly amazed!

Going back for more

Went to Hurghada for the first time as two sisters travelling together, though after booking we started hearing all the stories about being hassled by the men, and wondered if we were doing the right thing! was even going to change our minds and go to Spain!. But alas we stuck with it, thinking we would be daring and try something different. What a fantastic time we had, If you were approached by any men you should be polite and just say no thank you, although some are very isistant, just keep walking. We found the best time to visit the shopping area to be in the morning, no problems. We went on a couple of trips, one to the sahara desert and the bedouin camps and one on a boat out to some small islands to do some snorkelling, both excellent days and great value for money. The thing we couldn't get enough of though was the sea, the fish are just amazing and so close to shore, that you didn't have to go very deep to see some amazing sights. Going back this year and taking more of the family with us. Would suggest this country to everyone, and go now before they realise how popular it is becoming.
