Stayed here a few times

The old post house right in the centre of the village. Very nice hotel great food Room's are out of this world if you get the front rooms overlook the high street. Side rooms are still very nice but the view is not as good.

Great place

Nice place to stay Try the Hotel Alte Post very nice right in the centre of town great rooms and very good food not cheap but very nice.

Great for: Hiking/Camping, History/Culture

A place not to be missed!!

a very serene place with superb scenery. A very easy going place. Very friendly people too. For the history fanatic, its a good place to trace hitler's footsteps at eaglesnest. The bavarian alps also overlooks austria. a very breathtaking sight. Oh, soccer fanatics and supporters of the german team, their training arena is there...

Peaceful Place

Oberammergau is centrally located, where you can hike, walk or take a tour bus to other famous spots (leave the car at home). Or you can just stay there and relax and get to know the town folk, wonderful down to earth people, who will treat you like you are the only guest! It's a very peaceful place.
