I worked in Kos for the summer of 2004 - and its becoming increasingly popular with school leavers as a holiday hot spot! Brimming with bars and nightclubs, there is a different place to go each night of a two week holiday. From foam parties to cocktail bars, the 18 - 22 year old crowd will be entertained no end. For the more discerning holiday maker, there is plenty to do outside of Kardamena. Hire a car and head to Kos Town for lunch in the cobbled square, or drive up into the mountains and track down the hot, bubbling springs.

(Report Problem)We went to Kefalos which is a quieter resort that does not attract a mass of late night revellers. There is a great choice of Tavernas and some lower key bars. The beach is fair being a mixture of course sand and shingle but for a fabulous beach take a short boat trip to Paradise beach. We stayed at the family run Kordistos Hotel which has 38 rooms and is right on the beach. It was very friendly and good value. Both the hotel and resort are best suited to couples of all ages who want a quiet and relaxing holiday. not for the night owls!!

(Report Problem)My husband, my three year old son and myself stayed half board for a week at Aegean Village. We cannot speak highly enough of it. The people are friendly, the food was lovely, accomodation excellent. The resort is 1.5 km out of Kardamena which is a pleasant walk but we hired a car through Auto bank which was also an excellent deal - child seat is free and they deliver to your hotel! The resort is peaceful but there is activities if you want them both day and night. The town centre is lively and great for the younger element! It feels very safe there and everybody speaks English. Children are adored there and my son was treated like a little God! We toured the whole Island throughout the week and we visited Kafelos and in particular an Aussie Bar which served the most amazing Surf and Turf! Zia is a lovely little mountain place to visit and they also do a Greek theme night in the village. The spa is an interesting visit. The maps are hopeless and , despite an official looking sign, roads can end up as dirt tracks and you do wonder if there is any other form of life about! But, we just looked upon this as an adventure! The seas are clear and lovely to swim in, once you get used to the water. The sun was warm with a gentle breeze. I cannot rate Kos highly enough. For me it was a piece of paradise and i loved it.
