The Dallas Museum of Art is one of those select "comprehensive museums," meaning they have "something from everything" - nearly all eras and styles of world art are represented, and with pieces strong in quality and historical significance. The galleries mix painting, sculpture, and decorative arts - one comprehends the total aesthetic milieu of each period represented. Particular strengths include United States, and indigenous Western Hemisphere, but there truly is something for all interests and tastes. Plan to be there from the moment they open until closing - trying to see everything can be exhausting, but is not impossible.
