Genoa is quite unique and very interesting, its unlike other Italian cities and all other cities really. Points of interest are St. Giorgio's Cathedral, Via Settembre, Columbus' Monument, Columbus' Arch, Piazza Di Ferrari, The Port Area, The Lighthouse, The Carruggi, Palazzo Ducale and more. The Genovese are the nicest people in all of Italy. The food is unique to the area and is quite beautiful. The city itself is fairly beautiful and very interesting. The carruggi are great but its quite easy to get lost in these alleyways. Not far down the coast is the lovely town of Nervi and within an hour from the city are other lovely towns with nice beaches. Turin, Milan, San Remo and Pisa are all quite close to Genoa. The city is well worth a visit

(Report Problem)Genoa is simply marvellous. I really believe I've never been in a finer place. The mixing of an ancient atmosphere, not yet ended, with a modern cosmopolitan people is unique in the world. Go and see the ancient harbour.

(Report Problem)genoa is not your ordinary port city. the city is built on hills overlooking the harbor and is not all about shipping. the historic center is very quaint, with little shops and street vendors. i'd be careful walking about at night though.
