While I absolutley LOVED the weather and the scenery, I was VERY dissapointed with the people of jamaica! We were hounded by everysingle person to buy something! Once you looked, touched or even glanced at something - you are doomed. They will hound you so much that you just eventually buy it to get the hell outta there. Once you show that you don think you want it - they start guilt tripping you or if you dont acknowlede them (which we tried to start doing after the 4th day) they become rude and start yelling at you!! I have never been hounded by so many people in such a short amount of time. NOT ONE JAMAICAN talked to us just for the sake of being nice...there was always a motive! Someone even followed us into a resturaunt to try and sell us stuff! It got really annoying to the point where we stopped leaving the resort. We probably would have spent double the money there but it was too much work!! I loved the place...just not the people (unfortunately!). I wont be returning any time soon.
Great for: Beaches, History/Culture, Family Holidays

(Report Problem)I was in Ocho Rios on a FAM trip with the travel agency. We stayed at the Doctors Cove. It was a wonderful experience, great people and exciting overall. We did'nt get to leave the property to much but it was GREAT.

(Report Problem)Overall:Service Cleanliness Location Value We stayed at FPR for a few days at the end of February 2005. Eighty-plus degrees. Nice, clean, well-ventilated rooms. I just like a place to store my clothes, wash my body, relax and lay my head in the wee hours of the morning, so this was good for us. Decent Housekeeping service, good restaurant-Coconuts, friendly people on hotel staff. Nice pool available to guests all-nite(no lifeguard after 5PM). Nice suite #62: combo dining/living room with cableTV(NYC news and shows), ample seating, ceiling fan but no radio. Kitchen w/ working stove, refrig, microwave, toaster, coffe-maker, appropriate dishes. Bed room- full size bed, two dressers, closet space, full-length mirror, nice view to beach and piers, ceiling fan, great tropical breezes. Bath: good counter space which I would've given up for a bathtub instead of just a standup shower, good towel service, but we brought our own anyway. If you don't meet him at the front desk, ask for Ernest he helped me get things I needed and his shop on the beach boardwalk saved us some money on souvenirs; less than the tourist shopping area. Ernest also helped me get freshly caught fish which was great. Be careful of people trying to get you to go on their privately run excursions and people who will steer you towards them. you may not get all of the amenities the legit tours offer,i.e. open bars, etc. I think we could have gotten better values for our money if we could have navigated the tour system a bit better there. Nonetheless, we had a great time and will return to Jamiaca. May possibly stay at FPR if we don't go all-inclusive. Going into the town you will experience all sorts of peddlers and aggressive people asking for money(a result of the poverty in JA)

(Report Problem)Jamaica is my heaven on earth. I love all the pretty greenery. The trees with the flowers on them r so pretty. In the last four years I have visited Jamaica 27 times. Dunns River Fall is a must I have climbed it 3 times and each time was an adventure. I like the Jamaican dishes and the fruits they have. And visiting Bob Marley's birth home was very interesting tour. Ocho Rios is so much fun.. Turtle Beach Towers is one of my favorite places to stay in Ocho Rios and I also like the Carib Condiums they r nice and the veiw is great. Both of these hotels have kitchenetts.

(Report Problem)I absolutely loved Jamaica! A group of my friends and I went in Dec 2003. We are still talking about it. We went biking down Blue Mountain, and we climbed up Dunn's River Falls. Both tours were a lot of fun. The food was very good. The water was clear blue. The hotel was really nice. The people were friendly. The atmosphere was relaxing. I just can't say enough about Jamaica. I would definitely go back!

(Report Problem)The island is so pretty. It had big mountains which are green and lush. I defently want to come back. The dunns river falls was alot of fun even though alot of people were there. Then I swam with dolphins at the doplphin cove, which was so much fun, they were so cute. You can get alot of good buys. The people would ask you every second to buy there things, which got kind of annyoing. But jamaica is one of the most beautiful places i have ever been to.

(Report Problem)We visited the D. River Falls during our visit to Jamaica aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship (Mariner of the Seas). The falls were awesome - but just a tad crowded for anyone wanting to climb them. We did see the sterotypical Jamaican, which I thought was cool. The locals are really eager to sale you stuff in their shops @ D. River Falls (I thought that was the best part - wheel'n and dealing). We are going again this year - we want to hit Margaritaville this time around.

(Report Problem)Stayed at a great resort in Ocho Rios, did the Dunn's River thing, that was great. Went to the Flea Markets in town, the locals wouldn't stop trying to sell you everything in sight, other then that it was great....
