I love it!

five stars

I loved the latrine because exotic animals were outside while it was raining around the beach while bob the surfer dude got dry from all the water in the tanning booth. I am sure to go back never but you should try the latrine convienence.

Loved it!

five stars

We recently took a tour through BestDay out of Playa del Carmen to Chichen Itza. These ruins have been on my "must see" list for some time now. I would reccomend taking a smaller van tour than one of the giant buses. We had 10 people and it seemed quite manageable. Our guide (Juan Carlos) was great. I so enjoyed seeing all the ruins and hearing what they were used for, how people lived, etc. Our guided tour was about an hour and then we had 1 hour to explore. I needed more time and that would be the only down fall. It was REALLY HOT (well, I AM from Minnesota) and it was only February. Take a LARGE hat and lots of sunscreen. Climb the pyramid - it's worth it but a little scary!! Take your time and don't look down! Enjoy it. The trip on the crappy jungle roads is totally worth it!

It could be better

three stars

We went with gray line tours and didn't arrive until around noon. A dinner buffet is included but Not drinks including pop or coffee. They don't tell you this. By the time the actual tour started it was around 2 pm. The park closes at 4:30. The tour was about an hour and was ok but then there was very little time to explore on your own. We expected to have a full day not a rushed hour of see it as fast as you can. The park is full of peddlars who hassle you non stop about buying overpriced souvenirs. Don't waste your time on the light and sound show. Extremely disappointed as were the hundreds who walked out before it was over. Nothing more than a couple of lights lighting the ruins with a tape playing in the background in Spanish
