(Report Problem)After a longish flight we finally arrived in Muscats airport. Its an easy one to get through though there seemed to be so many workers from India. We booked direct with www.omanholiday.co.uk and they met us at the gates and took us with no problems to our hotel the Al Bustan Palace Hotel. What an amazing hotel. The reception area was bigger than our garden and the hotels gareden bigger than our village. The hotel was full - lots of Russians but that was ok as there was plenty of room. We took a Dolphin trip and a short tour into the desert mountains. The experience was better than we hoped and we will be back.
Great for: Beaches, Scuba/Snorkeling, Family Holidays

(Report Problem)Having been speding a few days each year in Dubai, I thought I would try going somewhere different in the Middle East for a change. So I chose Muscat, Oman. I knew nothing of the place but was told that the Cheddi (the hotel I stayed at) was a really great place to unwind... so I went there. I flew with BA, (it was the cheapest at the time) but its not a direct flight which add some time into the journey as it stops in Dubai first... I found the people in Muscat to be very friendly indeed. Its completely different from Dubai in that its not very built up... and certainly doesnt have the same number of tourist hotels lining the coats. The Cheddi is indeed a fantastic hotel, although the beach is not as good as those on the Jumeirah Beach in Dubai...well worth a visit

(Report Problem)Having had the pleasure of living here for two years! its just the best place in Arabia, great history, friendly people, diving that knocks the socks of the Red Sea, empty beachs, good shopping and the wahiba sands to play in! The hotels are all up market, so cheap living is not possible. Come soon before tourists start to take hold.
Great for: Beaches, Scuba/Snorkeling, History/Culture, Theatre/Music
