Beautiful and charming, Disney Sea is quite unlike Anaheim Disneyland. Many famous seacoast towns are reproduced as sets, the way when you're in Anaheim's New Orleans on a quiet winter evening you almost can pretend you're in the real place. My favorite was their Venice. Like bonsais of many cities-- very Japanese. Everything is set up so summer monsoon rain is no problem-- tunnels and covered spaces added everywhere. A great reward for my American-culture-starved kid, to break up a steady diet of temples. Fascinating chance for the thoughtful to see the "real Japan"-- which is all about assimilation of foreign cultures.

In retrospect my sole regret about my latest trip to Tokyo was wasting a day in this wonderful city by going to this little slice of the USA. It was hell. It's overcrowded, it's overpriced and it's overrated. I didn't particularly like the California Disneyland either, but at least that has attached novelty value. This is exactly the same, but bigger, uglier and far more crowded. I beg all of you not to make my mistakes - Tokyo is a wonderful city, don't waste any time you spend there in this place.
