For those that actually spend more than 5 minutes in Port Elizabeth and take the effort to venture off the main highway routes in and out of the city, one will actually notice a fantastically beautiful place. It's a perfect balance between big city life and small town living. Being used to the depressing wall to wall construction and claustrophobia of grey, damp Britain, it was a pleasure to sit on the balcony of a beachfront restaurant in Port Elizabeth in shorts and t-shirt in a South African mid-winter and gaze at the ocean with crystal clear blue skies overhead.
