The Peak is located on Hong Kong Island, and it is nearly at the top of Mount Austin, it can be reached by the Peak tram or you can walk up to it, something that i wouldn't recommend! The Tram is 118 years old and has a spotless safety record. It travels almost vertically up the side of the mountain. At the top you get an unbelievable view of Hong Kong harbour from the Peak Lookout. There are many shops including restaurants, cafes, clothes shops, really inexpensive high quality on display goods. There is also a motion simulator, a Madame Tussauds and Ripleys Believe it or not. Nearby at 23 Severn Road you can see the most expensive house in the World, in the late nineties the owner was offerred HK$ 900 million for it and he incredibly turned it down. The shops that i like are the ones selling traditionally Chinese clothings and ornaments. If you have time walk up to the summit and see some wonderful views of Lamma Island, then walk down the Governor's Walk through a bamboo garden, like a mini jungle, this route will take you back to the Peak.
