Abu dhabi is a fab place. My boyfriend has family over there so we got to stay with them and then a few days in a hotel. We went in dec/jan the weather was lovely warm enough to catch a lovely tan but breezy in the evenings which was nice. We visited dubai and the malls are fantastc plenty of shops. We stayed in th emirates towers and i would recommend the hotel to anyone. The beaches are beautiful in abu dhabi. Plenty of malls there aswell and cheap. The food was lovely i recommend Panda Panda lovely chinese. We are going back very soon where we will be trying out the excursions and watersports this time as we were taking in the city when we went last time.

(Report Problem)I am living here on a 6 month placement. The city is very friendly and great for shopping, beaches, scuba, sailing, camping, and desert activities such as camping and 'dune-bashing'. The only disadvantages are the oppresive heat and humidity in the Summer and the crazy roads. It is also a quick drive to Dubai, which is stunning, but best kept at a distance for the next 5 years until it has been built! Any intending visitors should really take in both cities with shopping, tanning and water sports in mind, but be careful to respect the local cultures and be safe on the roads.

(Report Problem)Abu Dhabi is a fantastic place to go to. It is a place that i would never have thought of going to but my father stays there and we took the chance to visit. Everyone is so friendly, its clean, with brillant beaches and the hotels are beautiful. Its so good that we are going back in December maybe the heat will be more bearable.

(Report Problem)I am fortunate to live and work in Abu Dhabi. Prior to moving here I had lived in Dubai for nearly 3 years, and to begin with, I admit to missing Dubai. Now, after 5 months here, I wouldn't want to return to the huge construction site that is Dubai City! Abu Dhabi has plenty to offer. I would recommend any newcomer,on arrival, to buy the book "Abu Dhabi Explorer". It is the definitive guide to both the city and Al Ain, and as it is written by a team based here, covers more detail than the Rough Guide and Lonely Planet series. Beautiful though Abu Dhabi is, unless you are a complete masochist, don't visit in June, July and August. The climate is far too uncomfortable then! For outdoor activities, the winter months are best. Nothing beats a desert safari under a clear, moonlit Arabian night.
