(Report Problem)While Leeds has apirations of northern grandure, often descibing itself as a 24 hour city, it lacks the basic services that allow it to trully compete with the likes Manchester. The TRANSPORT in Leeds in atrocious; should you wish to get to work before 7am or travel after 10pm, forget it, unless you can afford taxi's. The government tell us that to save the environment we should be using public transport. Yet the politicians have forgotten that there isn't public transport, other than for those who work regular'ish hours. What there is, is dirty, unreliable, expensive and unsafe. Leeds has one of the lowest investments in the transport system in Britain. Leeds City Council's motto seems to be "Image Above Substance", and that''s exactly what you'll get.

(Report Problem)Clubbing and drinking/eating in Leeds is great! Try Leeds on a Friday or Saturday night - and you're spoilt for choice on just where to go. Fantastic restaurants (such as Akbar's), and great clubs (such as Oceana) give Leeds its much deserved '24 hour' city label!! And hotels are also good. You can stay in the centre of Leeds comfortably and affordably - or if you want more for your stay there's plenty of first class hotels right in the city centre.

(Report Problem)The shopping is great in particular Victoria Quater and Thorntons Arcade. There are some really nice boutique shops in both. Harvey Nichols is great for designer clothes loved it! Nightlife is really good Discotheque at Gatecrasher or Oceana are the places to be. The bulilding were impressive paticlarly around Millenium square, Leeds kirkgate Market and the Corn ExchangeOverall pretty good I have little to complain about.

(Report Problem)When told we were going to Leeds for the weekend I wasn't getting tooo excited but I should have been. Great compact centre with excellent shops, pubs and food. Culture well covered and, to clear away the cobwebs on a Sunday afternoon the dales are 30 minutes away! We will be back.

(Report Problem)Whether it's shopping in the VQ trendy Victorian arcades with Vivienne Westwood, Harvey Nicholls and Louis Vuitton or the traditional english market which is largets in Europe there's something for every shopper in the huge pedestrianised shopping area. Fantastic architecture, famous nightlife with Cream, Gatecrasher and Back2Basics. There's the world famous Headingley Stadium for high profile rugby and cricket and Elland Road stadium for football (soccer), not to mention the brand new 50m pool. Leeds is also a fantastic base to explore all of Yorkshire including York, the Dales and the Moors

(Report Problem)Great place to party, lots of bars & clubs near to each other which cater for all tastes. Lovely ladies on Greek Street and wild nights at Gatecrasher to be had. Shopping through the day is great too, safe clean city with friendly Northerners! Down side, agree a taxi price home on a night as they try to rip you off!

(Report Problem)A well known shopping city - worth a visit if you live in the UK or are coming from outside the UK. If you would like to stay in the centre of Leeds try the Radison SAS hotel - or there are many others, but this is a good, extremely safe environemt at one of the main entertainment places in Leeds - The Light.
