Villa holidays - be aware

We stayed in a villa in Albufiera and was burgled on the first night even though we locked all the shutters, windows and doors. We had only been gone an hour so it felt like someone was waiting for us to leave. They took the usual things, money, camera, camcorder etc. On a brighter note, we did enjoy the algarve once we were moved.

Duas Quintas bed and breakfast

I've just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Duas Quintas bed and breakfast in Silves. The accommodation was beautiful.. a traditional farmhouse that was renovated and is completely surrounded by acres of orange trees. The B&b facilities were supurb and I would definately recommend this kind of accommodation to anyone else travelling to the algarve. The only downside was that they don't offer online book through tripadvisor or something like that. You have to make a reservation through their website http://www.algarveguesthouse.com

balaia is not just for golf

I have just returned from a week at the balaia plaza and i must say i did'nt want to come home. We were a party of 7 with a wide age range of 73, 69, 33, 31, 16, 9, 8 and we all enjoyed the holiday the same. The appartment was very large and clean, it had everything you should need including microwave, fridge/freezer, tv, cutlery, ect. The beds are comfy, The balcony with table & chairs was nice for breakfast and an evening night cap, and the air con was a god send.There is a on site supermarket that is very convinient if not a little expensive. The evening entertainment was basic but fun, the pool and pool bar were both very nice and not to far to walk. The first choice rep was great and was always ready to help with excursions, advice or problems you may encounter. the only down side was that the algarve is very hilly so the walk to the beach or into the town is a bit of a trek, but this did not take away anything from a great holiday. I would deffinatly go back to the Balaia Plaza agian.

Guesthouses

Ive just come from a fabulous holiday in the Algarve. The Algarve definately gets five out of five on nearly all counts, the only thing Id say is be careful where you decide to stay. I found three guesthouses on the internet, and to be honest I wasnt very satisfied with two of them. The one I liked, I would recommend to anyone. www.algarveguesthouse.com , let them know that pierre from marseilles recomended you. It was a beautiful guesthouse located just outside a small town called silves, and set in orange groves in a small valley. It was one of the most relaxing places in the world, and I was distraught when I had to leave. I would definately recommend searching around as there are a few bargains on the net if you look hard enough.

timeshare with first choice and my travel

in the last 2 or 3 years it´s getting normal to see timesharing people going to other hotels with reps from First Choice and My Travel in the wellcome meetings with permission/agreement of these travel agencys (local officce). most guests get the ideia of being a way of the travel agents to show other hotels where they have business but some complain that they where not expecting to have this situations when they book with a travel agent. this is all very strange because if they buy timeshare they will not need the travel agent again and they will not go back to those hotels where they stayed before. strange business.

Algarve seervicies

If you want a nice and Professional service at Faro airport, use the same website that I used in this summer (06) named www.autocarhire.net . With Auto Jardim Car Hire everything was easy and smooth.

A country to return to often

I have been to Portugal twice in the past 5 years and both times I was not disappointed. My first was to Lagos which is a good base for the Algarve, my second to Alvor which is a smaller town and not so much to do but has a lovely beach. Hiring a car is a must because there are so many places to visit and driving is so easy.

Algarve - Excelent holiday destination

I've been to the Algarve last month and had an extraordinary experience. The weather is very warm, inciting you to go to the clean, sandy and crystal water beaches. It’s full of interesting historical monuments, friendly people, reasonable prices and a great overall environment. I recommend everybody to rent a car at www.algarve-carhire.net. They gave me a brand new car for an excellent price and full assistance.

Excellent Holidays

I've been going to algarve for 10 years and I love it. I always use easyJet to book my flights at www.easyjet.co.uk, my villa at www.maxcountry.com and my car at www.autorent.pt. All these 3 give me the best serivce qith best price. I know Auto Rent for 10 years, and I'm very happy with their service. You all should take my advices. P.S.-I've already booked 3 trips for next year.

Explore the Algarve.

This is a very nice place, I visited 5 times, and I'm returning this year, It's a great place if you have a family, as it is very safe and calm (outside touristic areas). You can choose from Rural to Beach holidays and during Low Season (Winter) golf is very important in the region. The Algarve has top notch courses and a lot of variety. I would also like to suggest you to hire a car in order to explore the Algarve and go places. For that purpose, from my experience I suggest www.farocar.com its a very reliable service with competitive rates. The oldest model I got during my visits was 1 year old. Only when you visit regurarly this region, is when you really get to know.
