We made great disvoery when we found San Marco.

While walking in the Parti district my husband and I found San Marco. Had never heard of it. Frequented mostly by Romans, a few tourists, and Romans know their food and value. Anyway, as of 5/08 if we had salad, shared one whole pizza, one beer, one glass of wine, dessert and coffe it ran US50 or so. If you ordered the same but with a meal (they do have Italian dishes) it ran more to the $85-90 range. It is very clean, service is average, food is good., you have to make reservations or go early in the evening because otherwise it will be full, with long lines waiting to get in. Seating is sort of crowded . We give it five stars in food, five in ambiance (very Italian) four in service and four in value, only because we were paying in dollars but comparing to $55 for two beers in Via Veneto (tourist trap they charged a cover charge, no food ordered) it's a good bargain.

Try the prepared fish platter

We dined here the both nights in Rome. If you are a group of +4 try the suggested fish platter as recommended by your waiter. A dining spot for the locals. Great value in a $$$ city. Enjoy.

the best rome has to offer

we went to rome on our honeymoon, and while walking one night found san marco... it was the ultimate.. we went back nearly every day for either lunch or dinner.. the staff is great.. the food is unbelievable..everything is expensive in rome, but this is worth every euro.. do yourselfs a favor and visit the san marco for the best food in rome.

Great for: Romantic Dining, Groups, Outdoor Seating, Dessert Menu, Pizza, Meatballs/Pasta

Came back for more

We really enjoyed this restaurant. We found it for lunch our first of two days in Rome and liked it so much we came back for dinner on our second night. The pizza is very good but try the calzones for a special treat.

San Marco is already a reason to go back to Rome

We feel this place is only know by the Italians and not the tourists. The food was great, they have a wide range of pasta's but also other great dishes - also handy a menu in English. Ambiance is trendy. Really liked it. We were 4 nights in Rome and dined here for 3 nights. That is how much we liked it.

Great for: Romantic Dining, Groups
