Wonderful place

Liked everything Rome is the most wonderful City in the world as far as I am concerned - can't wait to go back - was there last October 1995 and will be there again Sept this year

sick as

i found the colosseum awe-inspiring and was amazed by its beauty. this attraction is a great photo oppurtunity especialy at sunset

Out of the Mouths of Babes !

When my daughter returned from Rome and I asked her what was the best thing she had experienced she replied, "Mom, when I stood in the middle of the colosseum, I looked at the big picture and realized what a minute in time your life is! " Those words have haunted me since !

It looks better on the outside

The Colosseum was great, but several bad things make the experience less enjoyable. The line was long but moved steadily. The service was disrespectful. The gift shops had nothing unique or inexpensive. The manmade structures such as a walkway across the arena were distracting. It was difficult to get a good view because of the crouds of tourists. And to top things off, today the Colosseum is just a shell of what it was. However, the history, view, and other things were worth enduring the bad.
