Worth at least 1/2 day

five stars

Before I visited the museum, I thought I wouldn't like Van Gogh's work. During the visit, I learned a great deal about his life and work, and I came away with a very deep appreciation. The museum celebrates his humble life, his great creativity, and the mental challenges which led to his early death.

Must see

five stars

The most complete collection of his work anywhere. By having the museum set the pieces in chronological order you get to see the development of his wrok on a broad scale. Especially enlighting is a section of his pencil sketches which is quiet vast. The Mecca if you are a Van Gogh fan, a must see.

Best Museum I've seen yet

five stars

For art lovers, and those who aren't interested very much. I was there when they had a special exhibit of an additional 150 Van Gogh's etc... simply terrific. Well worth it. Gift shop sells many prints at low costs as well. I wish I would have gotten more.

Eh

three stars

I didn't think it was worth the wait or the price. Although it was nice...I could have found several other things to do with my time and money.

Amazing

A must!!! Simply a must. Go to the Rijksmuseum first and stroll over to the Van Gogh. Take the day. There are cafes nearby.

Van GO!

five stars

What an amazing collection of Van Gough art! Several floors of it. ONLY drawback was the crouds. I went on a Wednesday in Jan. thinking it wouldn't be crouded...it was pretty packed. I was thinking beforehand how nice it'd be to sit in front of one of his paintings and gaze - didn't happen, too crouded. Still- WELL WORTH IT.

The Van Gogh Museum was one of my favorite museums. The art is wonderful and the building is cool too. Beware of the stairs!

Van Gogh Museum

five stars

One of the very rare museums where you gain energy as you go through the exhibits. Don't miss it.
