Top tips
(1) Don't wait to get up the mountain on a certain day. Do it when the weather is good, the wind could change and the whole thing could be covered with the famous 'tablecloth' cloud for the rest of your holiday. (2) Any time of day is good, dawn, day, dusk, night ... take your pick!

Visited my son who was attending film school and found that the people in the market places, fleas markets, stores, restaurants and all the public places like the aquarium, were super friendly and helpful. Their smiling faces made me feel really welcomed and I really miss them as well as the great weather, fine dining and the terrific sight from on top of Table Mountain. It is the best part of South Africa and thank you all for a fantastic time.

My daughter & I climbed it ! go early in the morning, drive past the cable car entrance, free parking at the trail head, you can't miss it! can be cool,as wind passes over the top, so check forecast! Even if it was hot the day before! take a wind breaker!! have a picnic on lions head!

Standing on top of table mountain, you can see all of Cape town and out into the ocean. On a especially clear day you can see for miles around in all directions. It is a singular experience to be on top of Table Mountain and watch a cloud back sweep out off the ocean, across table mountain while you are standing there and back out over the ocean. Just a quick cable car ride up the mountain!
