nice spot

three stars

It is a shame that the monkeys have been very spoiled as a result of the frequent feedings by the tourists, they can get very agressive.. but it is a nice spot

Ubud Monkey Forest

five stars

I really enjoyed the monkey forest. There was alot to see as far as temples and such. There were also alot of very friendly monkeys with adorable little babies. Admission was only $1 US and a bushel of bananas to feed the monkeys was $1 US as well.

Monkey Forest

two stars

I would like to say this was a great place to visit, but after duly purchasing my bananas I had gone no further than 20 yards when a huge (well he seemed huge) male tried to grab them off me. Before I could let go he grabbed my leg and bit my thigh. I spent the rest of the day at a very nice clinic in Ubud being stitched up watched by curious locals. On a serious note, make sure you keep your entrance ticket, this acted as insurance cover, so all my treatment was free.

Monkeys Monkeys Everywhere!

five stars

My wife and I visited the Monkey Forest during our stay in Ubud while on our Honeymoon. The lush tropical vegetation is inviting enough, but when you add the moss-covered stone carvings and 70-100 monkeys it becomes a whole new experience. However, leave your food at home or be prepared to have the monkeys all over you. They are not afraid of people and will come right up to you, especially if you have food. We were able to take some amazing up close photos of several baby monkeys with their mothers. This is one of several reasons to make your way inland on Bali and visit the wonderful town of Ubud -- great food, great entertainment, great scenery!
