To keep it short we are afamily of 4 -2 adults and 2 teenagers. We stayed in Manhattan which was the equivalent of a city like delhi run down, smelly and full of street vendors. Full of tall buildings, rudest people you'll ever meet ( and i was told the yanks were hot on customer service, yeah right). No one in the shops will acknowledge you or even give you a please/thankyou but then expect a tip . Other than fast food and a few clothes it is expensive and full of rip off merchants. Times Sq is just like Leicester Sq. Got food poisioning from a well known eatery. Most of the eateries do not scratch up to UK standard when it comes to cleanliness.Only good thing was an Irish bar called Gabby O'Haras which was brilliant and where there lots of Irish where you could have a good time in a clean enviroment. I highly recommend this bar for anyone travelling to NY- Do not confuse with Rosie O'Gradys. Book all shows etc before hand or you will pay 5 times the rate when there. If you want to go sightseeing make sure you purchase a New York Pass from Planet Hollywood - we saved $1000 for a family of 4 on normal prices.
