The mansions and the lighthouses were beautiful. There is not much entertainment or activities, so a weekend or a day trip is just enough time to spend on the island.

One of the great New England towns. The views of the water and boats are spectactular. The history along with the seaside quaintness make this a wonderful place to visit.

I took my wife to Newport for a long weekend and we had a wonderful time. Great place to go for the long-weekend. Walked the Coast-line and visited all the mansions. Had great food and stayed at a redone old Saw Mill Hotel. Taverns are fun too. I can promise you will like this place!

Newport in the Summer is beautiful! The beaches are wonderful and the shopping is top-rate. It has some of the best restraunts I've ever eaten at--top of the list being the Smokehouse Cafe (only open in the summer), with their award-winning chowder and incredible burgers! If you like pizza (New York Style), you can't miss Rocco's! Many tourist flock in by boat, creating a very interesting and enjoyable night-life! With all that Newport has to offer, it is definitely a great place to take vacation, or even live!
