A great place to visit!
We went camping in Edisto Island 2 years ago, and fell in love with the State Park there. We are going to James Island this year, to try Charleston from a different angle. We were torn between staying at Edisto and doing things in Charleston proper. It is a long drive between the two, but there is lots to do and see as you go! The Aquarium was was nice, but we like Ripley's better. Our favorite thing to do was the cruise ride out to Ft Sumter. We saw several dolphins playing around while on the boat. I want to visit some other beaches in the area this time, and maybe take a dolphin cruise this time, along with a carriage ride through Charleston --- let someone else do the driving this time! We visited Magnolia Gardens and had a real blast - if you go, be sure to take the swamp tour. That is the best! Another wonderful thing to see is the Angel Oak Tree on John's Island. I want to go back there for sure. That tree is simply Amazing!

I've only been to Charleston once in my entire life, and I'm aching to go back again, and soon. It has such a nice, laidback atmosphere, with great people and awesome food. Also, the parks and sites are something to see. I had such an amazing time; Charleston has a sort of romantic feel to it... it's a town in which you can dream!

Charleston is a great city. It has the best restaraunts per square mile in the country. It also has some of the greatest looking women (I met my ex-wife there). There are bars, clubs (Music Farm), and great beaches (Isle of Palms). It is just a great city with a lot to offer

(Report Problem)A very romantic, perfect vacation!
I arranged a birthday surprise for my huband with the help of Lodge Alley Inn. They recommended an evening dinner cruise that was absolutely PERFECT! The food and atmosphere were wonderful. We even saw a couple of dolphins. They also arranged a private carriage ride for us. About a block behind the inn we found a cozy little italian restaurant while we were exploring. We enjoyed a romantic meal over candlelight. I would not advise this walk after dark for anyone though. Take a taxi. I did not feel safe on the walk back in the dark. Other than that it was truly a magical vacation that we will never forget. We're going back for my birthday, hopefully. Thanks Lodge Alley Inn! P.S. They even arranged a goodie basket to be waiting in our suite. Perfection!!!

One of these days, I'm going to find a way to move to this beautiful, historic city. I cannot even imagine anyone visiting Charleston and not fallilng madly in love with it. It has everything! And the people are wonderful! In my humble opinion, it is America's jewel.

When I visited there, there was beautiful scenery, great temperature, and plenty of places to shop! It was a great experience. I will be going back sometime real soon.

Overall, Charleston is a beautiful place to bring your family. Everyone you come into contact with is so friendly. Only thing that needs to be addressed.Is the road conditions are in poor shape.I would rate Charleston an A plus for attractions.And for the clean parks,that surround Mt.pleasant.

I lived in Charleston for about a year and I loved every minute of it (even the heat)! There is always something to do and it's pretty much impossible to become bored with the city. Charleston has a certain vibe about it that is hard to compare to. The atmosphere and the residents really gives the city a "feel" that is hard to describe.
