If you want to shop or dine...do Dallas...if you like art, architecture and ease of living-fort worth. The Kimbell is one of the great museum experiences in the world both as architecture as well as the art within...and good food! The Modern is the second largest Modern Art Museum second only to MOMA in NYC....feel the concrete!...Northside-go to White Elephant-feel history....see cattle drive in the street. Maybe it is provincial...so is Sienna and Taos in their way too. Both the Zoo and Japanese Gardens on a nice day are heaven. Downtown is fun and has a very lively streetlife-packed at times and still safe!! Bass hall can amaze.
Great for: History/Culture

(Report Problem)I posted a review on Dallas. I wasn't happy with Dallas. Ft Worth is a lot better! It shows true meaning to the west, and its a cowboy town. The stockyards is a great place to visit. Wild western like setup the H3 salloon is awesome! Best margaritas! Sundance square downtown is really fun! The people there treat you great! The drivers are much much better!! And it is a safe area. The bad thing is its a little smoggy. North Ft Worth is very industrial. I love Ft Worth a great place to visit, great history, It is really worth it!! Highly reccomended!

(Report Problem)Fort Worth, Texas is the best and most livable city, not only in Texas, but in the whole world. Cowtown has exellent museums, I love Camp Bowie Street. University Road is awesome, specially because it's near TCU. Down Town is the best and the stockyards are so rich in so much that it is very historic and with great detail in architecture. The people are very friendly and it would be nice to live there. I can't wait for the Trinity River Vision and iI can't wait to come back and visit the great Cowtown.

(Report Problem)In many respects Ft. Worth is much better than Dallas for visitors. They have one of the best downtown areas you would want to visit at night, free from the fear of being mugged or robbed, lots of nice restaurants, afine library blocks away, movie theatres on two corners. You can go to downtown Ft Worth and stay there and enjoy yourself. If you would rather explore, then the highways in Ft. Worth are easily driven without traffic jams. You can get around in Ft. Worth fairly easily. The only negatives I could see with vacationing in Ft. Worth is the lack of 5 star restaurants, and the lack of various types of hotels. Ft. Worth has only one really nice hotel, the Worthington. It has many smaller hotels, but they are either not the quality or are more expensive than other cities in the area. When i visit Ft. Worth I usually stay in Arlington and drive to visit Ft. Worth.

(Report Problem)I'm not sure where the person above who talked so poorly about the museums is from, but Fort Worth is certainly NOT a "provincial" town! It has a wide variety of excellent museums (I liked all of them!), and if you're looking for entertainment, try Sundance Square downtown or the Bryant-Irvin area which has lots of unique restaurants and cafes. The area around TCU and the Botanical Gardens and Fort Worth Zoo is one of the most beautiful urban places in Texas. I would *definitely* recommend a visit to Fort Worth!

(Report Problem)Everyone talks about Ft Worth museum, well except for the Amon Carter and Kimbell, all the other museums are SO over-rated. The Science Museum is a joke [and expensive, considering what it has to offer]; night life is dead; the whole city is pretty much dead - just a provicial town, full of SUVs, and no pedestrian. Don't waste your time and money
