this place was very beautiful, the massive Cathredral was exceptional, wonderful food, and excellent shopping...checkout the the friendly resturaunts, visit the "plaza"...the best way to see(and the cheapest) is to rent a "campervan"...if you start your visit in Christchurch go up to Wanaka, and visit "treble Cone"for excellent skiing...no matter where you go in New Zealand,it is a pure delight...

(Report Problem)Christchurch is an enchanting place full of life. The people create a warm environment even when the weather is cold. The scenery is amazing, the mountains, the water and the numerous gardens create a fantasy world that actually exists.

(Report Problem)Loved the scenery and wineries. People are pleasant. There is lots to see. Not kid-friendly. If you have children, you are encouraged to leave them at home. Restaurants serve mussels and mutton, and occasionally deer.

(Report Problem)I loved Christchurch, a small compact downtown area, tons of dining options, the city centre is a great place to people watch, art museum, artist studios, city park all within walking distance. lots of reasonable accomodations nearby. I've been all over New Zealand, this is one of my favorite cities.
