I'm Going back in June

five stars

The Architecture, Churches, Marketplaces, Equator, Otavalo, Cuanca All a Must See. I would describe the churches, but that is not possible, you have to see them for yourself to believe, Very Beautiful. The people all seemed very friendly towards us. I felt totally safe all the time I was there and everywhere I was, but just to play safe do not wear expensive jewelry or watches; in fact you should not ware any jewelry. Vaya con dios

Amazing

five stars

Arriving to Quito from the plane is one ons the most beautiful views you can have. Be sure to select a window in the place otherwise you will miss the chance to view the city from the air. Don't forget to visit El Panecillo a small mountain where you can see the old city. (I recomment to go there at night) SAn Francisco Church is one of the best places to go. And in a few month the Compaņia Church will be open again. Maybe the world most beautiful church. Very nice places to eat and not so expensive.

Quito, Outdoor Lover's Heaven

five stars

Quito is a beautiful city high in the Andes with tons of things to do in and around the city. The Centro Historico is really spectacular if you're into history and a cultural atmosphere that seems to be from another century. Around Quito is a mountain climber and hiker's dream. Within two hours of the city you could be dazzled every day for months with different very diverse outdoor activities.

One of the world's most beautiful cities

five stars

This is one of the most spectacular cities in Latin America, and perhaps the world. Perched in a narrow valley between an active volcano and a wooded ridge, the views are always incredible, and the Virgen de Quito is always visible as a reference point. The colonial center is very well-preserved and retains its historic feel, there are several worthwhile museums throughout the city, plenty of greenery, and great restaurants and nightlife in the Mariscal area. The city's mix of businesspeople and indigenous immigrants from the countryside, as well as all races, also fascinates. I would schedule five days in Quito to see everything. Travelers should be very careful with their belongings in tourist areas and on public transportation, and take taxis at night except in areas known to be safe. If you take those precautions, you should enjoy your stay in one of the world's better-kept secrets.
