(Report Problem)India is a misunderstood, great country, people are too quick to judge it. Okay it is dirty but the great thing about India is that if you have money you don't see the real India, if you don't have money you do. People should think twice the next time they decide to critisize India.

(Report Problem)I visited Agra in January and found the Taj truely mind blowing! It is the most beutifull building i have ever seen. pictures can only convey 1/10th of its beauty. However, agra itself, (as is most other urbanised areas in india) dirty and covered in litter. On my way to the Taj out coach pulled past an open field. Our party looked, the three gents in the filed looked at us, we all realised they were involved (publickly) in thier oblutions, the coach pulled off and we were all scared for life. Apparently someone took a photo, but i think its a lie as we were all to shell shocked to even speak. Vicious rumours Eh! I would highly recomend india, but be prepared for filthy streets and desperate beggers clinging onto your legs as you try to leave tourist sites. Most of these beggars make more money than the president of india so dont believe a word they say. some even cruely take babies out into the baking sun in order to make money. Other than these 2 issues and of course the pleantifull supply of hawkers trying to sell you thier wares, i would say india had it all as a holiday destination and i am deffinatly going back. I hope this review was helpfull, Paul...

(Report Problem)guys its so easy to citicise something but one should also see the efforts behind. U cant compare taj (agra) with london paris as the monument is so old that these places were not even into existence (as tourist places)that time when taj was made. An i said beauty lies in the eyes. so just dont come to a conclusion only by seeing the surroundings.

(Report Problem)I would say the Taj Mahal excels other monuments I have visited. It amalagates sublime beauty, devoutness to everlasting love, and extraordinary spirtuality. India as a whole is an incredibley diverse and boasts many things which are enriched with beauty, sensuality, and spirtuality. I think no other country measures up.

(Report Problem)Calling India a dump is being a bit harsh isn't it? it just the way the country is. I happen to like India, the country has history, it has culture, and many many beautiful places, and there way of life is much better than London or New York. Its less stressful, Visit it before you make commments.

(Report Problem)People should cut a line between the Taj and India. When you visit and see the Taj itself it is beautiful and their is no other way to describe it. But Agra itself is a dump the same as the rest of india. If you are looking for that 'off the wall - crazy' experience then visit India. If you are looking for clean streets, nice hotels and hassle free, then stick to London, New York, Paris. Although to be quite honest i would feel safer walking around Delhi, Agra etc on my own than London or New York.
