We stayed at the Le royal meridien hotel on the south west tip of the island, away from the bustle of Chaweng and had a fabulous time. The hotel is absolutely top class, the best we have stayed in with superb service and facilities, stunning views and is so relaxing... A trip to Nathon for souvenir shopping is enjoyable and easy thanks to the free courtesy bus. Avoid Cheweng - it is too crowded and is manic on busy days - but there are excellent restuarants there.

(Report Problem)The ocean and beaches are fantastic, but it is too crowded, and it is going to get worse with the additional international airport going in!

(Report Problem)Koh Samui is alot smaller than Puhket, so the scenery is less brothel, more ocean and beach. Check out Big Buddha Temple and leave some money. Also get a guide and take a ride on a jeep to one of the many random mountain top restaurants. Also check out the various massage clinics. There was this one place with quite a view of Chaweng Beach.
