Overall

Nice is a beautiful place in fact the whole french riviera is something really special. Its simply geographically the best place on earth, mountains, parks, markets, sea, sports, sailing, divercity, the closeness of all the very cool places nice, monaco, italy, cannes, antieb. However.. Most of the french work for the government or government institutions. The demeanor of the average person from nice is somewhat dour, sorry for themseleves and blighted and struggling, and it has a socialist overtone, low salaries and huge taxation. The whole attititue is to rip off the tourists. Tourists seem to be resented for there wealth. Just watch the french snarl at some hotshot driving past in a ferrari. Or a couple with a lovley holiday home.
