Romantic Relaxing Renovating!

five stars

This City has so much to do, whether you like walking round viewing the architecture, or sitting in a street cafe enjoying good food and drink. It's perfect for a weekend, offering a taste of the Italian way of life.

Great for: History/Culture

bellisimo

five stars

To me Florence would be the cultural and artistic capital of Italy. It is sometimes a bit difficult to find what you are looking for but with a little map you'll be able to as much or as little as you'd like. An especially pleasant surprise for me was Santa Croce. It is less popular than the Duomo and thus less crowded, but marvelous just the same. Be sure to park the car and walk and you'll experience Florence to the max.

Florence, Italy

five stars

Florence is Beautiful! Sights are all walking distance. Top rated museums are there. It's alive and bustling. Food is great! Lots of police walking in the streets.

Magic of Florence

five stars

I loved it. Florence is wonderful. It has retain its old world wonder mixed gently with the modern. As all over Europe if you want the old world you find the hotels rooms are small-but you do if you look enough find the baths are located in your room No Hostel to get the full falvor of the area. Stayed not far from The Academia hope I spelled it right.seeing David in person and close-up what can I say. Worht the day. Resaurants located all over with a small modern mall near by. had some problems with locals near by the hotel - So always have someone with venturing out. Food was excellent Toured the wine country and visited the Designers Outlet on the skirts of Florence. Don't miss the Jewelry Row Bridge Outstanding values.

Florence & Tuscany

four stars

The highlight of our recent visit to Florence was the Wine Tasting tour to the Tuscany region. It was a fun day-trip with beautiful scenery, great food and spectacular wines! The museums and architecture in the city are astounding, many of the lesser known buildings were the most impressive to me. The wait for the Ufizzi can be deceptive. Even though the posted wait time for admission was 1.5-2 hours, the actual wait was 3.5 hours. Street vendors laying prints and paintings on the pavement was always a hassle. It seemed they were trying to get one stepped on just so they could claim a sell. I would also suggest at least one meal at Da Tito Trattoria. It was near our lodging and we stopped in one night just as they were closing. They were so friendly and inviting that we actually ordered more food than we needed, but it was all so fantastic, we came back 2 more times and were more impressed after each visit. We spent time in Rome and Venice as well, but this was the best eatery by far.

I love everything about Florence - atmosphere, people, site seeing - weather - we went in May the trip was wonderful- however I did buy jewerly and when I returned to the US it appraised a half of what I paid. Very disappointed.

I won't ever forget this place!

five stars

The city is bustling and busy, but people are friendly and very helpful. We were only there for an afternoon, but were able to visit Il Duomo and the Uffizi and did some shopping and walking around. I could have spent a month there, perhaps a lifetime. I can't put a finger on it, but I would say Italians are more interested in living life to the fullest, rather than working themselves to death for the almighty dollar (or lire in this case!). If you haven't visited Italy, I strongly urge you to go, given a chance. I would go back in a heartbeat and hope I am lucky enough to do just that!

Don't go to Italy without visiting Florence!

five stars

Florence has so much culture and amazing artwork. As a novice in art, I was still able to appreciate many of the pieces in the Florence museums. There are many famous pieces that are taught in any Art History 101 course. Also the people in Florence are much nicer than in Venice. The open air markets are great for unique souvenirs and also a great value! Please don't do Italy without stopping for a day or tow in Firenze!
