Overall

... how anyone could fail to be bowled over by Venice, an absolutely mind-blowing place, completely unlike anywhere else on the planet. Stunning buildings, beautiful alleyways and NO ROADS, just canals. An amazing city and one-of-a-kind. If St Mark's Square is too busy, turn down a couple of alleys and you'll be miles away from anywhere (surrounded by substantially cheaper places to eat) and anyone. It's only a small island so it's a good idea to just get completely lost and wander around soaking it all up! Last time I went was for my wedding - going back for our first anniversary next month!
