The city is quite small but this makes everything easy to reach. Great for shopping especially the arcades where you find small unusual shops. The market in the centre of the town is worth a visit but beware at one of the entranceways, you pass the fish counter...not exactly a great welcoming smell! The castle is a must visit for any tourist coming to cardiff. Another place worth a visit if you have time is the museum of Welsh life at St Fagans (a few miles outside the city). Here you will find buildings from all parts of Wales which have been moved there. On the negative side is car parking. The car parks are always busy so it's best to head for Sophia Gardens where they have open area parking. from there it's less than five minutes walk from the city centre. If you want to visit the bay (recommended!) then catch a bus from the city centre as it's quite a walk from the city.
