(Report Problem)Halifax is easy to get around, full of people who are happy to help with directions or advice and the nightlife is great during the summer for an older touristy crowd, but in the fall/winter its the student nightlife of the EAST! Best drinking holes are The Seahorse Tavern, The Bitter End, The Economy Shoe Shop and latenight dancing at the Marquis.
Great for: History/Culture, Theatre/Music, Nightlife

(Report Problem)Nova scotia in general is just one of those places you fall in love with for not only the scenery but how friendly the people are. With the size of Halifax, it is amazing that the small city charm of manners still exists. Halifax has so much to offer within the city and also allows easy access to surrounding attractions like Peggy's Cove which is such a pretty lighthouse view. One of my favorite activities in Halifax was the museum downtown where I got to see more history on the titanic and lots of items recovered from the ship. The citadel offers a wonderful view of the city and is an interesting place to tour. Just be sure you catch it at a time a school group isn't going through as you won't learn as much.
