(Report Problem)Everything that I have to say about Montreal is excellent, There is no doubt about that. There is very nice, polite and well educated people everywhere, arquitecture is amazing and contrasting, one of the best nightlife I ever seen... Maybe the city I'd like to live in ¡¡

(Report Problem)I enjoyed the many historic buildings in Old Montreal especially the Notre Dame Basillica, which would be the biggest must see. It is the most beautiful church I've ever been in. The shopping is everywhere and has something for everyone, if your like fashion go to the malls of Underground Montreal. If you like boutiques with a little edge Rue St Catherine, has huge excess, if you like quaint mom and pop stores go to the stores on Rue Sherbrooke or Rue St Laurent. Montreal offers winter sports like ice skating, cross country skiing and snow shoeing in season. The food was wonderful there are many restaurants that offered great dining. Rue St Catherine also has nightlife, there were many panhandlers on that road but they were not agressive just keep walking you should be fine. Montreal has many fine museums, and if you like museums you should check them out. Montreal has an adequate Casino, if you like gambling its worth your while I gave value a lower (3 star) grade but I went when the exchange rate was at a high 82 cents US for every dollar Canadian value. Your experiance could be worse or better depending on exchange rate. Taxes are high, but part of the can be rebated on lodging and on items take out of the country. I lowered conveniance a little because everyone speaks French and a few of the places I went I had difficulty communicating, If you speak French than rais the rating of my view for that as well, I suspect the if you speak french the people will be a little nicer as well. Get a metro map, you can go anywhere in the system for $2.50 Canadian each way which is a steal compared to a taxi. I went in early March windchill on one day got down to as low as -23(F). Unless you love winter sports of snow covered scenery go when its warm.
