Lake Tahoe has it all from casinos and entertainment to skiing and hiking. The pace is slow and view are awesome. All of this and it's very affordable.

I lived at the Lake for a year and it was a breathtaking experience. My husband and I go to Lake Tahoe area at least once a year. We have family in the Carson Valley area....Lake Tahoe has EVERYTHING you could want on a vacation.

Since 1991 we have spent our summer vacations in Lake Tahoe. Every year we discover something new about the area. The hiking trails and hiddens lakes are numerous throughout and easily accessible. South Lake Tahoe is going through many positive changes and will remain a top 10 destination for many years to come!

There's nothing more romantic than being in the fresh alpine air at the most beautiful lake in the world. My husband and I honeymooned there 16 years ago, and we keep going back. The romance never ends.

Takes your breath away during all times of the year. You can ski, hold hands on the beach, cuddle on the love boat, relax in a sauna, take in a great show, and enjoy a cozy cabin or a room with a view. The one you love will love you all the more for being with you in this jewel of the Sierra Mountains. Truly a world class destination.

Tahoe is paradise all year round. Stick to North Lake Tahoe to avoid the seedy casino atmosphere of South shore and engage in as many outdoor activities as possible. Don't miss Squaw Valley (again, year-round), a leisurely booze filled rafting trip down the Truckee River or happy hour at Sunnyside, Jake's or Sierra Vista. So much more to say that I never could get down in a short review. Best to go with a small group (8?) of like minded people, but could definitely be enjoyed as a romantic getaway as well.

this is the best spots in the states 30min from reno so you can gambal and just 6 more hours from L.V which is also in the top 10 but the lake is better i would know i live there
