I didn't realise how good it was down the East Lancashire Road

five stars

Great people, fantastic architecture and art galleries (if you like that sort of thing) but Liverpool's real charm are the everyday people you meet. I know it is a cliche but they do have a great sense of humour, sometimes overly cheeky but usually very funny. What a great night out!! We walked along Crosby Beach and hoped looking at the Anthony Gormley figures would cure our hangovers. The Summer Pops festival is a must also with some very big names in the music industry playing in a tent previously apparently.

Liverpool the proud and happy city

five stars

This city is a revelation. The media have portrayed a run down place with people who dwell on the sad things. I found the place to be a hive of activity with new buildings all over the place. The city centre is full of great shops and has excellent transport links to get around. The people are really cheerful and funny and are easy going and welcoming. The accomodation facilities vary widely from the cheap rooms (£33)available at Formula 1 to the SAS Radisson. The museums and art gallerys are wonderful including of course the Tate at the Albert Dock. Don't miss a ride on the famous Mersey Ferry and visit the great Space Port at Seacombe on the other side of the River Mersey. Nearby at Crosby are the wonderful and thought provoking Gormley Statues and Southport, Chester and the beautiful beaches of the Wirral peninsula are easy to get to on frequent trains. There is great entertainment available at the Playhouse, the Empire and also the Philharmonic Hall and there are some wonderful eateries catering for every taste. For a city break there is something here for all.

Why are we waiting?

five stars

I am in my 71st year! What my friends and I dislike about Liverpool? We can never find a restaurant that serves food after 10.30 p.m.

Meal and entertainment at Jalons Restaurant Liverpool

five stars

We had a fantastic night out here in August. Despite there being thirteen of us the service was superb!! The welcome was so warm the staff couldnt have been friendlier towards us all. The food was first class and the choice was unique and delicious. The atmosphere was electric because John O'Connell and Jimmy played first class music. Highly recommended!!

Great for: Nightlife

Multi-lingual guides

five stars

Had a great guided tour with a guide from "Liverpool Entente Cordiale Tours" - saw lots of things I'm sure I wouldn't have discovered on my own. They also do guiding in French and there are other guides who offer Spanish, Russian, German and Chinese. Check out the website: www.geocities.com/liverpool08guide

This city's GREAT...! - made me feel "LIVERPOLITAN"...!!!

five stars

Classy downtown buildings, ferry boats and a strong waterfront skyline. Most of all I loved the people here... everywhere you go - folks who know how to 'TALK"...!!! Reminded me of New Yorkers - loud, brash but natural, spontaneous and helpful too. What I mean is ALIVE...!!! No surprise this is the Beatles home town.
