Montgomery Is a beautiful place, full of history, stories, and development. Find out about the African American History, seeing all the historic sites, and Walking over the bridge of history, all was so amazing. Visiting the Dexter Ave Church where Dr. Martin L. King Jr. ministered was amazing, learning of all the African American And Caucasian People that died in the struggle was inspiring to lead to a better tomorrow. To understand what actually took place, hear the stories from the people who lived it, and to learn what it was like to be alive in the time with the struggles and trimphs that were over come will never be forgotten. If you have the opertunity to visit please do so. And take your camera and film with you. You will be amazed and Inspired at the same time. Understanding our past is only a little of what it was like. Its means much more to see the HISTORY BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES. Your life will have to change after visiting. Understand All that happened and visit The UGRR (Underground RailRoad) Homes and Also The Plantations, and see what it was like to be a slave in the 1800's. Your life will change. Make sure You take money so you can drive to different places, they are fair apart.

(Report Problem)Housing is cheap. No real commerce large government pressence. Not a strip club to be found which kind of conflicts with the abundance of gambling oppurtunities. Liquer stores close at 7pm and club life is scarce. There is a resteraunt called Igors that is the main stay for African Americans to party (Like Appleby's with a liveband) and when you ask people what do you do for fun the common response is "Stay in with friends" their new baseball team is called "The Biscuits" they acually shoot biscuits into the stands! Who's idea was this? The people had a contest to name the baseball team and this was it (kind of get where I'm going with this?) Under developed use of the river front area, great potential for lofts and a nightlife. To sum it up Montgomery is a town to afraid of it's diverse comminities to grow.

(Report Problem)In Montgomery, the people are ok but the one thing that bugged me the whole time I was there was that it was boring. The entertainment is scarce, and if you dont have a lot of money, you will be bored to tears in this town. I think what the town needs is a better night scene, maybe some place where people who aren't teens can have fun without being forced to empty their pockets in order to do so. The Shakespeare park is great though, but it closes early and if a movie isn't showing that you want to see or if you aren't hungry, then you are shot as far as doing anything in this town because places close kind of early. Its not that bad, but much work is required though

(Report Problem)Montgomery, Alabama caters to the feeling of being down home. When you are here, you have a feeling of activity moving at a comfortable pace. You won't find everyone greeting you with a smile and a trademark southern drawl (even though it exists), but you will find people willing to point you in the right direction if needed. The city is spread out across a decent sized area. Even though a lot of the commerce seems to be pushed towards to eastern side of town, major efforts to revive the "downtown" area (west) of Montgomery show signs of a gradual swingback to a balanced city. With shopping, sports (go Biscuits) and some of the richest history in this nation, next to D.C., you might find it difficult to see all the sites before you have to go home.
