Our stay at Cedar Key
My husband and I and 2 daughters ages 17/12 called in march for reserve a room for the dockside motel. I thought it was bit strange that the hotel would'nt take a credit card to reserve the room but everything I read told me the town was very mellow and layed back. Will I hate to say our vaction started with a 5 hr traffic jam in tenn and another 3hrs in alanta Ga . I called the hotel around 2 to let them know that there will be NOWAY possible for us to make our destination by 2:00 p.m since we where still in GA the owner TOLD me that if we where unable to be at dockside by 5:00p.m the room will be let go.haha I thought. We did arrive at cedar key by 9:00ish and Dockside had a sign that read "no vacancy" . We had to travel back to chiefland to fine a place for the night.What a journey that was for spring break. I called again the following morning and once again the owner told me no space was available. Lucky for us the parkplace condo was able to put us up for the remaining of the stay in cedar key for a few dollars more and I'm sure it was alot nicer and almost as close to the main area.THANK-YOU Park Place!!!! Otherwise the town was clean and beautiful. Theres alot of restaurants and pubs and a handful of shopping places and a tiny beach. For the boaters take the chance and rent a boat at low cost and go to the surrounding keys to see the wildlife and other beaches there priceless.But beware!!! the water is shallow and theres alot of sandbars . Over all we will return to cedar key in the future to see the shops and sites and enjoy ourselfs . But I can tell you what place I will never stay at can you guess?Enjoy Cedar key Rocky and Jody Allen, OHIO

This place is so quaint. We had an awesome time with our 11 yr old son and now we're going back for our anniversary!!

we just spent the most peacefull relaxing vacation ever in the small town of cedar key at pirates cove cottages.what a clean place we will be back
