Doesn't live up to the hype!
By ,
The location is beautiful. The pools vary from secluded and romantic to social and fun. The rooms are okay, but nothing special. Being charged $1.00 per page for faxes from our real estate agent left us with a low opinion of this resort.

Recommend it highly

Loved this resort. It does not have the feel of the typical hotel. Guest rooms are scattered like a village at the foot of the mountains. Rooms are large and comfortable, and pools are placed strategically within a short walk of guest rooms. Delightful.

Excellent Value for a FUN resort
By ,
The key to enjoying this resort is to spend some time reading the guidebook and discovering the various amenities. Lookout Mountain is an excellent, manicured golf course. The pools range from "Fun and Busy" to "Quiet and Romantic" depending on which of the several you choose. Poolside drinks and dining are very good quality without you feeling "taken" by the prices as in some other resorts. Jacuzzis are everywhere!! The restaurants are good and the premium restaurant "Top of the Pointe" is one of Arizona`s finest and definately has the best view. The area has many fine restaurants so I wouldn`t recommend never leaving the property to dine. You can easily spend $700/ night at other Scottsdale / Phoenix resorts as I have but the atmosphere is decidedly stuffy by comparison. The common areas pools, spa and fitness centers are first rate. The rooms while slightly outdated as of 2002 offer breathtaking views and balconies, a fair trade off. For around $200/night in season, Tapatio Cliffs can`t be beat.

We can't wait to go back!!
By ,
Very nice resort for the cost. The staff was great, the food was great and reasonably priced, and the Different Point of View restaurant is the best view in town. Best feature is the number of pools and jacuzzi's on the resort. I would definitely recommend for a reasonable getaway for 3 to 4 days.

almost above average

No towl rack near the sink? Nice and big space but outdated. Worth the amount paid but not more and surely not the standard fee.

Average Resort.
By ,
The resort offers many amenties, including golf, and horseback riding, but the suites are small, and the decor is similar to a motel room anywhere on a major interstate. The swimming pools are large but strangley configured and were very crowded the week we were there in oct.The resturants are nothing special but ok, and the location in North Phoenix was fairly convenient. Overall a nice mid range resort, but nothing to rave over.
