San Giovanni Fuoricivitas
Description
Surrounded by several historical landmarks, stands the magnificent Romanesque structure called San Giovanni Fuoricivitas. During the reign of Lombardy, this complex was situated outside the city walls, thus deriving its Italian-Latin name, Fuoricivitas (literally meaning outside the city). Despite the destruction caused during World War II, the reconstructed church still exudes the charm of the bygone era. Hoards of visitors flocking to admire this beautiful landmark further justifies the fact of it being the most photographed landmark in the city.
