Tomato Pie Cafe, Pittsburgh

Tomato Pie Cafe is not a fancy place, but it does serve good food. Meals are served on plastic checkerboard tablecloths and with plastic glasses. The food is simply presented and ranges from pizza to subs to sandwiches. Instead of pizza sauce, the cooks slice fresh tomatoes for the pizzas, hence the name: Tomato Pie. Other favorites are the homemade French fries and gnocchi. Outdoor dining is available on the side porch.
