Description

Situated opposite Prague's famous Palace of Culture and Congress Center, this modern, high-rise luxury hotel caters mainly to attendees of the numerous conferences taking place across the street, and to upper-income leisure travelers. The building exudes the safe anonymity of a large Western-style hotel (over 500 rooms) with excellent service and stunning views of the Vltava River below and the castle in the distance. Word of its tasty breakfast buffet has spread, so much so that it now attracts even locals, especially on weekends. This hotel is probably best known locally for the mid-decade scandal involving the U.S. government and its Libyan owners which resulted in U.S. sanctions preventing Americans (nominally) from staying and doing business here.

Attended a business convention
By ,
Typical international hotel - aimed at business users. Good views over the city from my 18th floor room, which was very clean and modern. Very comfortable beds. Only two english (news) channels. Tube station just outside hotel 2 stops from Museum section of city centre so location good & quiet. Great food - excellent choice for breakfast, several very good restaurants with good quick service & a cafe though food & wine not cheap. Quality fantastic so no complaints. Insufficient no smoking areas though but thats typically czech. Could do with another bar. It got too crowded one night when conference ended with very long scramble for drinks, though normally service was very good Friendly staff throughout Some Extras are a bit expensive eg mini bar- like all such large international hotels

5 star, NOT!
By ,
Like the first reviewer the initial feeling in the lobby is a good one. Unlike the first, we were on floor 9 which I believe had been recently renovated as are others from 9 and above. However, there are no tea/coffee makers, no iron or trouser press, basically nothing but a bed, bathroom, tv and wardrobe etc. There is a minibar which costs about £7.50 for a single vodka, £5.00 for a fruit juice, and even the bottle of water left for you costs £7.50 if you drink it. They are basically getting people in on the cheap(ish) then charging a fortune for any extra, or what you may consider to be free in any other 5 star hotel. The waitresses are damn rude for breakfast which to be fair was OK. Locality is good however with a tube station outside only two stops from Prague centre. We would not stay again!

Where are the 5 stars?
By ,
We stayed four nights in the Corinthia Towers.
The first impression you get when entering the hall is great, it is what you expect from a five stars hotel.
We were given a room in th 7th floor, when we opened the door that good impression flew away.
The room furniture was very old, the TV was broken and the bathtub was incredibly dirty.
We went down to reception and explained that the bath was dirty. They apologized and gave us another room in the 7th floor.
This one was worse than the first, the bathtub was not only as dirty as the other, the floor was broken and it had been badly fixed.
You were not able to have a shower there without a cut in your feet.
There was also ambiental music in the bathroom, the problem was that control was broken and you could not turn it off.
The volume was so high that would prevent anybody from sleeping for the whole night.
Again to reception, no apologies this time, new room in the 8th floor. Fearing the worst we opened the bathroom door, and the bathtub was dirty!!!
not as dirty as in the previous rooms but dirty as you would expect in a hostal not in a five stars hotel. Tired of complaining we stayed at that room.
The beds were very very soft, so soft that was unconfortable to sleep on them. The room felt old, the doors, the TV set, the beds ... all was old, it has not been renovated for a least 20 years

Talking with other customers we realized that, at least the rooms in the 7th & 8th floor were in a very poor condition. I do not know about other floors,
but stay away from the 7th or 8th if you dare to go to this hotel.

This is not a five stars hotel, seeing the rooms it would hardly be a four stars.
I am sure anybody can find a truly four stars hotel in the city center cheaper and better than the Corinthia Towers.
