Six Flags San Antonio
I have a season pass to my local Six Flags Park, so I got into Fiesta Texas for free. I enjoyed the park; it is much bigger and has more rides and shows then the one here in New Orleans.
A couple of rides stand out in particular. First, the Superman ride was excellent; big drops and a couple of loops made for a fun ride. Poltergeist was also pretty good; more for the shock of the initial takeoff then the ride itself; it shoots out of the gate very quickly. Also, the Scream was one of my favorite rides; unlike it's counterparts in New Orleans, the Scream shoots you up quick and, once you settle at the top, shoots you down quick; in New Orleans, this is two different rides. This is the first time I have seen a ride that shoots you up AND down, so I enjoyed this ride the most.
The shows are enjoyable and certainly get you out of the heat for some time, so I consider this a push with every other theme park in the world.
There were no lines on the rides, so we were able to get through to anything. On Chaos, it was me and three other people on the entire ride. Anyway, even in the summer months, the park had plenty of atractions for the number of guests that it had.
If you are a roller coaster junkie (like myself), you wouldn't come to San Antonio just to visit this park, but if you are here with your family, it makes for a nice day at the park.
I would caution you one thing however; unlike most amusement parks, there is no childrens' section to this park. There are plenty of rides for the kids, but they are spread out throughout the park. This makes it a lot tougher for those with smaller children. Also, I should mention that there is a small waterpark included in the park; it has the bisic waterslides.
