We can't wait to go back with our dog Honey!
By ,
The valet, concierge, roomservice all were the swiftest at getting their jobs done and were the most pleasant doing their jobs. Beyond that, though, I loved the fact that they accetped our dog Honey. She even piddled a little, and no one made us feel bad about it. They actually ignored it, and she is a great dog to begin with. She made everyone happy when we were bringing her up and down for walks, and I love people who love pets. The decor was especially nice as well. The big comfortable beds were a bit high but warm and cozy. Of course, also, the location was prime. Did you know there is a crepe maker around the corner. Bon appetite! Thanks, Stephanie J. Golden

Left My Heart in SF and at the Argonaut
By ,
I have traveled to San Fran several times, and the Argonaut provided the best accommodations to date. The location is excellent within blocks of Pier 39/Alcatraz Ferry, Ghirardelli Square, Cable Car transit lines, etc. The rooms were clean and comfortable - housekeeping was always prompt. The hotel also offers a free wine tasting from 5 to 6 pm every night, which my husband and I found relaxing and fun. The only mishap occurred on our third day when the entire block lost power for about 7 hours, but otherwise the hotel and its amenities were great!

If you are in doubt about what hotel to stay at in San Francisco, look no further. Spend a few more bucks per night and you will be greatly rewarded. This hotel is truly outstanding, from the location to helpfulness of the staff, to the accomodations, you cannot do any better than the Argonaut.Trust me,you will really like this hotel.

Great location but beware
By ,
The location of the hotel is great. The hotel has two problems, honoring resrvations and sound proofing . We had made a water view reservation through Sam's Club Travel and paid the upgrade accordingly. Upon check in we were told that they had no water view rooms available. We were put in a ground floor room overlooking a dumpster. They gave no apology and made no attempt to make it right. Sams Club was unbelievable and did get us switched after two night of our four night stay. Our second room had an amazing view however you could hear even a whisper in the adjoining rooms.Beware when making a reservation that the room has been soundpoofed!

Great experience!
By ,
My sister, her boyfriend and I spent a few days at The Argonaut over Thanksgiving. We had a great time and the location is fabulous! Fisherman's Wharf is just a short walk past several shops and restaurants; the cable car turnaround is across the street; Ghiradelli Square is also just a few blocks away. The concierge was very helpful and saved us a lot of money in parking by pointing out the best public transit routes. I loved the rooms with their modern variation on the nautical theme. I would recommend it to anyone!

I'll return for the Location of it.
By ,
My husband and I enjoyed our selves there because of the location. There's so much nearby that you can spend all day going in and out of your room with lots of ease. It's too expensive though, for as little amount of time you end up staying in the room. Since there's so much to do OUTSIDE the hotel, you don't spend much time there. The beds were Very comfortable, but the Suite was too warm and they didn't have fresh water in the room. There is a mini bar, but for the price, The Argonaut should at least supply clean, fresh water in a carafe.

Great Hotel
By ,
Great Hotel The Argonaut Hotel was a great place to stay. It is a perfect location on the waterfront with lots of night life. The cable cars are right next to it which makes it convenient for travel to union square and other tourist sites. The service was friendly. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. The extra services such as internet access and honor bar were nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel and plan on using it again in the future.

There really is a light at the end of the tunnel.
By ,
Somewhere after the Mezcal, I was summoned into a trance by listening to the music of the great John Tesh, and arrived to an exalted state of consciousness. It was then and there that I found myself stricken with wanderlust, and also happend to find myself roaming the television channels. As I pondered the question: "where to go and what to do?" an answer arose from the t.v. like a blurry vision from an oracle: Jason and the ARGONAUTS was on t.v. I went onlne, got directions to the ARGONAUT, and that was it. When I arrived, I felt like many of my metaphysical musings were momentarily satitated as I strode into the Argonaut. I felt like I had stepped through a portal into an ethereal universe, and was helped on my spiritual quest by a man who had all the answers to the questions I needed: the man in charge of dispensing his worldly advice imbedded in the suggestions he gives tourists on what to see and where to go. His last words of advice still ring to this day: in the freeway of life, there just ain't no (expletive) carpool lane. Bravo. Bravo.

Our Favorite New Hotel
By ,
Do yourselves a favor and splurge for a view room at the Argonaut. Being early risers we were transfixed by the serenity of waking up to the sounds of sea gulls and ships passing in the quiet San Francisco Bay. We have visited San Francisco several times. This hotel is not located in the schlocky area of Fisherman's Wharf but at the end near the Hyde Street Pier. It is truly San Francisco at its best. The hotel has it all--the service is not the most polished we've experienced but it is friendly and sincere. We met several very interesting people from Australia and Europe as well as Americans from all over at the wine hour. We will definitely stay at the Argonaut again, and I would recommend it without hesitation.
