MonteCarlo Jackpot in the Hotel Monaco
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/2005
the Monaco is our ONLY hotel in San Francisco. The concierge staff is amazing and helpful. The front desk is excellent. Our room attendant the her staff were the best ever. Not to mention the gorgeous decor of the place- from the street to the room to the tiny and wonderful extras that were everywhere you looked. We refer everyone to it, and will never book a flight to the bay without booking a room! Thank You Monaco Hotel!

WOW!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/2005
I was impressed with the decor as well as the service attitude of all employee's. While the hotel is small in comparison, their service attitude tops The Ritz Carlton I have stayed in!

nice hotel, good location
By carolyn, 06/06/2005
The Hotel Monaco is a great hotel. There is a free wine&cheese happy hour at 5:00 (reason enough to stay there). It is decorated well - rooms are nice-sized. Location is good - right off Union Square so theaters and shops are within walking distance. The restaurant downstairs is great, too. Oh, and you can also request a goldfish for your room.

Place to stay if going to the theatre
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/2005
My wife and i were attending a weekend of plays in SF and the Hotel Monaco is an ideal location as its one block, on the same side of the street from the theatre district. I would recommend the Hotel Monaco to anyone who wants a unique lodging experience. The staff is welcoming, professional and friendly. The decor is warm and inviting. Grand Cafe is a great place to catch a pre theatre dinner or a night cap after the play. Great location for shopping too as its blocks away from Union Square.

Small but quaint
By snufericious, 06/06/2005
Monaco Hotel SF is located right smack in downtown SF. So it's a great spot to begin the walking tour from. Parking is unfortunately by valet only and costs at least $20 a day for in and out privileges but hey, that is probably how much you'll end up paying in any hotel in downtown SF. The rooms are typical boutique style so you wont cram more than 2 people in a room. Washrooms also are small. The decor of the hotel is very colorful and very "jester" like. Rooms are really well-maintained and very very clean. The staff is very helpful and courteous. The front desk staff even remembered my name which lent a really personal touch. There arent many facilities as the site of the hotel is really small but they did have complimentary wine tasting at 5pm everyday when I visited. Another thing that was unique about this hotel was that it also offered complimentary palm-reading in the lobby which I thought was really special. I got a great deal for about $70.
