Why settle for mediocre when the best is right under your nose . . ?

No fancy trendy stuff here. The freshest, highest quality seafood simply prepared. Mainly local like dungeness crab, petrale sole, rex sole, salmon, CA bay shrimp, Beautiful oysters from Washington/Canada.
SF Anchor Steam beer and fresh SF Parisian Sourdough bread served by good old SF boys, the Sancimino brothers, second generation owners.
The crab louis salad seems by far the most popular, my favorite. An assortment of oysters with a few meaty cherrystone clams defies description. House smoked salmon, old school clam chowder, bay shrimp cocktail, lobster salad and fresh market fish to go like scallops, petrale sole, halibut, tuna etc.
If swanky is what you're looking for this is *not* the place. If a taste of old San Francisco and the best shellfish simply prepared is the order of the day there is *no better*.
This is not a "something for everyone" place. The only hot food is clam chowder. Everything else is cold. If you don't like *any* seafood this is not the place for you because there is nothing else except bread and wine.
The personal attention is what really makes this an experience. How do you like your crab cocktail? Dunno? Just ask and you can have any number of sauces created for you on the spot.
Excellent service and the finest ingredients continues to make this the most popular seafood joint in San Francisco since 1946.
