One of the BEST places in town

An excellent choice for single travelers or families. Safe neighborhood, right on the pedestrian mall in the center of town. The bar is the perfect place for people watching. The staff is very courteous, and everyone speaks English. Very helpful and the service is excellent. The rooms are more than adequate and the price is reasonable. For the single travelers the infamous Blue Marlin Bar, at the Del Rey Hotel, is right around the corner. All-in-all a class act. Was there in DEC '05. A GREAT time to visit. The otherwise drab city id decked out for the holidays, and the streets are packed every night.

Great place

Clean, very nice. Located in the main part of town, we spent several hours in the bar, which has tables overlooking the street, watching all the people. Good food, good prices. Has a casino attached which was not too impressive. Van to the airport is $12. Friendly staff. Two internet computers. Able to change money for you. I will stay there next trip.

Nice Clean

I stayed at this hotel in Sept 2004. A friend told me about it. It is clean, the Hotel personnel are nice and helpfull. The casino, well it is just ok, nothing special. The Bar is great, you can sit and watch the people go by, great place to people watch. The comp breakfast was very good. I would gladly stay at the Hotel Presidente again. There are other hotels cheaper and others that are more costly but for value and convience I would have to say this is the place to stay while your in San Jose. Oh Yeah, there is a lot to see with in walking distance and you can set up a tour right from the Hotel Loby. One other thing there was no hotel room min bar but having the bar in the loby and good room service you realy don't need one. If you stay here, hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
