Planetario, Santander

Santander's Planetarium is part of the University of Cantabria and located in the Escuela Superior de la Marina Civil, near the Dique de Gamazo (Gamazo Jetty) and Puerto Chico (Small Port). The building is easily identified by its metal dome, and is a great place to get better acquainted with the fascinating world of astronomy. Using a specialised projector, visitors are given an amazingly accurate picture of the movements of the sun, planets and stars. Tours must be arranged in advance, by phoning the Centro Cultural Doctor Madrazo at the number above. Groups of between five and 50 people are taken around every hour. The visit takes about 45 minutes. Admission is free.
