A very nice, affordable hotel

The hotels in St. Petersburg have become very expensive but the Pulkovskaya is a bargain! I had a room on the top floor and was very impressed with it. The halls and lobby are spotless, beautiful scenes of St. Petersburg done in stained glass dominate the reception area. The rooms on the upper floors are really nice: new furniture, spotless bathrooms with hot water all the time, TV, fridge. 24-hour security. Three restaurants to choose from, shops, sauna. The complimentary buffet breakfeast is fantastic! Juices, coffee, tea, hot and cold selections, breads, pastries, fresh fruit, etc. The hotel is right on the Metro line and is only 7 stops to Nevsky Prospect OR the hotel provides a FREE shuttle bus into the city center every two hours. It is about 15 minutes from the airport and very close to the suburban palace complexes of Tsarskoe Selo and Peterhof. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again on my next visit to St. Petersburg.
