Great little Zoo for a quick things to do!
By ,
Get there early before the stollers run you over, but once you're there you'll be surprised how many well built exhibits there are in this small zoo. Don't let the size fool you, we were there for two hours and could have spent longer with these amazing set of animals!

fantastic view of native wildlife
By ,
This zoo is fantastic! Small compared to other zoos, but what would you expect? People don't vacation in AK with the zoo in mind...They probably do as much as they can afford with such a short tourist season... Great exhibits, great variety of native birds and mammals - and we were lucky enough to see some of the orphaned brown bear cubs the zoo was taking care of! This place does a lot of rehab for orphaned and injured animals (I believe it's main purpose for existing) and it's great to actually see the baby animals they are caring for.

Loved It

We have been back, again and again. I agree with, 'don't let the size fool you' comment. You may not see as many Alaska animals as you might expect, but this zoo is one of my favorites in the world. The size is compact and nicely fills part or all of a day.

You'll be glad you did not miss it.

Home in Alaska

An excellent place to stay with breakfast, heated pool, fitness room, a washer/dryer and an Alaskan Atmosphere to greet you in the lobby with a double sided fireplace, a alaskan gift shop, and look out for the giant bear! (the kids loved that) A great place to stay with the whole family.
